With a population of about 150.000 Heidelberg is located in the South of Germany. It lies on the river Neckar at the point where it leaves its narrow, steep valley in the Odenwald to flow into the Rhine valley where, 20 kilometers northwest of Heidelberg, it joins the river Rhine at Mannheim. Heidelberg is part of a densely populated region known as the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. It is home to one of Europe‘s oldest educational institutes, the Ruprecht Karls University founded in 1386, more commonly known as the University of Heidelberg. It is one of the leading Universities in the area of life sciences in Germany. Additionally, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, and the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics are all located in Heidelberg. Meeting location


The meeting, including the clinical workshop on Sept. 17th, take place in the lecture building 'Neue Universität' of the University Heidelberg (Address: Universitätsplatz, 69117 Heidelberg, Germany). The meeting and registration office is located directly on the ground floor in the entry hall. Please contact the registration desk upon arrival to collect your name tag and other documents. Please wear you name tag at all times during the meeting.
